Charlyn Wilson, Viola

            Charlyn Wilson (21K)

Charlyn has played the viola since 7th grade, and music has always been an enjoyable avocation for her. Before coming to Oregon in 1977, she played in the Monterey Bay and Santa Cruz Symphonies, and the Bear Valley and Aspen Music Festivals. She was principal viola in Palatine Hill/Columbia Symphony until 1987, when she started her career in nursing. Currently she coordinates special programs and oversees community education activities for the Legacy Cancer Institute, working at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center.

She was member of the Portland Opera Orchestra for 12 years, and then rejoined the Columbia Symphony in 1997. Playing chamber music continues to be a passion as well.

Her other enjoyable pursuits include yoga, travel (especially to Italy!) and cooking, interests she shares with her husband, Jeffrey.
