Kenny Regan: Reflections (Premier)

Composer Kenny Regan is currently a senior at Grant High School in Portland, OR. While he began formal training in piano at the age of five, his love for music took hold in Second Grade, when he sketched his first compositions. Since then, he has been pursuing music as a primary focus, driven by his parents, both of whom are music educators. Kenny draws inspiration for his works from numerous classic composers, notably the starkly contrasting Charles Ives and Beethoven, and is also influenced by the mentoring of his current piano instructor, Gordon Lee. Another factor in his composing is his experience with the oboe, a melodic instrument whose playing style differs greatly from that of the piano. Kenny studies oboe with the renowned Fred Korman.
