Laura Barker, Cello

Laura Barker is excited to be starting her second season with the Columbia Symphony. A native of Portland, she played under Huw Edwards in the Portland Youth Philharmonic while in high school. She graduated in 2003 with a degree in Sociology from Whitman College and went on to study vocal performance and cello at Indiana University. After living in Boston for several years, she once again calls Portland her home. In addition to playing the cello, Laura is currently working for several Portland-based international non-profit organizations.
