Marc Bescond, Principal Bass

Born in Brittany, France, Marc has studied music since his childhood. His first instrument was the harp.

During those years he had the privilege to study with Bernard Cazauran, principal bass at the Paris National Orchestra. Marc has played bass in several French orchestras and chamber music ensembles.

He has arrived in USA in 1998 and settled in Oregon in 1999. Since then he has played with different orchestras of Portland and Vancouver. He is currently principal bass at the Portland Columbia Symphony.

Marc enjoys hiking around Portland area with his wife and his 7 year-old daughter.
