Opening the first concert of our Season of Firsts, is Guest Conductor Paul Haas. He has been
called 'visionary' and 'on the brink of a noteworthy career.' He is currently the Music Director of the Symphony of
Northwest Arkansas (SoNA), and the founder and Artistic Director of Sympho as well as a guest conductor and an active
composer. Portlander Rosa Li returns to the PCSO stage from Indiana University where she studies with Andre Watts.

Andres Lopera, Metropolitan Youth Symphony's new Music Director, and Jessica Sindell, newly
appointed Oregon Symphony principal flute, make their Portland debut appearances on the stage of PCSO.
Lopera comes to MYS from the New England Conservatory Youth Symphony and Music Director of the Boston Latin-American
Orchestra. Ms. Sindell is a recent graduate of the Eastman School of Music and is completing her first season in her
role as principal flute.

Pius Cheung, recognized as a master craftsman on his unusual instrument, will dazzle you in his first
PCSO solo performance. Guest Conductor Andrew Sewell, Music Director of the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, takes the podium to
deliver his own brand of energy, vitality, and spirit. A native of New Zealand, Maestro Sewell received his music training
