A Portland native, violinist Elizabeth Doty received her Bachelor's of
Music Performance degree summa cum laude from the University of Oregon, and went on to
complete her Master's of Music Performance at the University of Missouri-Kansas City
Conservatory of Music, where she held a string quartet fellowship. In addition to
long-term studies with Kathryn Lucktenberg and Benny Kim, Elizabeth has performed
in a number of master classes, including work with Monica Huggett, Nadia Salerno-Sonnenberg,
and James Buswell. She has participated in chamber music and orchestral festivals in the U.S.
and in Canada, including the Green Mountain and Killington festivals in Vermont, and the
Symphony Orchestra Academy of the Pacific, in British Columbia.
Elizabeth has been a member
of the Portland Columbia Symphony's violin section since 2009, and also performs with the
Vancouver Symphony and the Cascadia String Quartet. A trained Suzuki educator,
Elizabeth teaches violin lessons through the Rose City Music Academy.
Outside of music, she enjoys hiking and biking, and loves to cook.
