Erik Mimnaugh was born in Portland, Oregon in 1980. When he was
ten years old he began playing the upright bass, and shortly after he received an electric bass for his birthday. He was a member of the Portland Youth Philharmonic Preparatory Orchestra and continued on to graduate from University
of Oregon in 2004 with a Bachelor of music in classical Bass Performance.
Erik is an active participant in the jazz and rock community in Portland. Recently he has been in collaboration with the Jacob Merlin band and Mic Gillette, a founding member of Tower of Power and veteran recording artist. Some of Erik's music has been featured on Fox Sports Network, as well as in the video game Amped 360 on Microsoft's XBOX 360 video game console. Performing with various symphonies in the region has opened the door to some amazing experiences, such as supporting guest soloist Yo-Yo Ma with the Eugene Symphony and a chance to have a lesson with world renowned bassist Edgar Meyer.
