Ashley Peck is an active cellist and teacher in the Portland area and has been
playing with the Columbia Symphony since 2007. Her first musical experiences were at the piano when
she was nine years old, and she started playing the cello when she was twelve. Some of her teachers include
Dr. Rachelle McCabe, Ann Grabe, and Hamilton Cheifetz. She graduated summa cum laude from Portland State
University in 2006 where she studied cello performance.
Since graduating, Ashley has enjoyed teaching in Lake Oswego's school orchestra program as well as teaching private lessons at her studio in Northwest Portland.
Ashley's musical tastes range beyond classical music too, having appeared with Kanye West and recorded with local
project Channel In Channel Out. Ashley also performs with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and she enjoys playing
