Born and raised a violinist and skier out of Boulder, CO, Nic is now in his first year with the Portland Columbia Symphony Orchestra as
well as in his second year at Portland State University where he is earning his Masters of Music in Violin
Performance. Prior, Nic earned his Bachelors of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Colorado
at Boulder, studying under Oswald Lehnert and members of the Takács Quartet. In the summers during his
college years, Nic played with the Colorado Light Opera. Upon graduation, he joined the Boulder Philharmonic
Orchestra and the Boulder Chamber Orchestra. In 2009, Nic made the move to Portland to study with Carol
Sindell at Portland State University and to finally live in the Pacific Northwest, which he has loved since
childhood. On top of his studies and orchestral playing, Nic enjoys private violin tutoring and playing
chamber music.
