Camilla maintains a full time private violin and viola studio in her home in Canby, Oregon. As director
of the "Portland Strings", her students give concerts throughout the year as community service and outreach. She enjoys
playing violin professionally with the Portland Opera Orchestra, Oregon Ballet Theater Orchestra, Portland Chamber
Orchestra, and Peter Britt, Oregon Coast, and Soundwaves Summer Music Festivals. She played full time for three years
with the Oregon Symphony, and served as Concertmaster of the Columbia Symphony and Linfield Chamber Orchestras.
As an educator she has taught music at all grade levels, K through University, in California, Illinois, Arizona,
and Oregon, in both public and private schools. At USC she taught at the Community School of Performing Arts,
now the Colburn School, and directed the Elementary Music and Arts Program at Idyllwild Arts Foundation. As a
Suzuki specialist she taught at the Northwest Suzuki Institute, directed the string program for the Forest
Grove School District in Oregon, and served as a string specialist for both the Torrance and Palos Verdes
Public Schools in California. While raising her family and teaching privately, she co-founded the PV Strings,
Lunada Bay Chamber Orchestra and Ensembles, and Lapis Quartet. Her voluntary activities include Director of
Youth Activities for the Peninsula Committee for the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Cultural Enrichment Chair for
Palos Verdes Public Schools, and member Board of Governors, University of Southern California.
Camilla earned her Bachelor of Music degree and teaching credentials from San Jose State University where she
served as Concertmaster of the University Orchestra, president of Mu Phi Epsilon, and a scholarship recipient
to Tanglewood. She was selected as a foreign exchange student to San Jose Sister City, Okayama, Japan, and
upon her return worked with the Pacific Neighbors organization. Graduate work in violin performance, music
education, and music therapy has been at the University of Illinois, University of Southern California,
Portland State University, and Marylhurst College. Her violin teachers include Frances Robinson, Naom Blinder,
Paul Rolland, and Raphael Spiro.
