Amara Sperber started playing violin at age eight when she lived in Port Orchard, Washington. Since then, she has played six years in Metropolitan Youth Symphony and four years in Clark College Orchestra. She has taken private lessons from Carmen Davidson-Smith and Dawn Carter. Amara played in high school orchestra at Vancouver School Of Arts and Academics and competed annually in Solo and Ensemble. She has played in various youth music festivals such as Young Musicians And Artists, WMEA All-State, Marrowstone, and Chamber Music Camp Of Portland. Her first season playing with Columbia Symphony Orchestra was 2009-2010. Amara Sperber is a current student at Portland State University. She is working on earning a Bachelor in Music Performance and coaching violin for beginner students.
