Lori has played with the PCSO since arriving in Portland in 1986, and is also a long-time member of the Newport Symphony. She has performed with the Portland Chamber Orchestra and Oregon Chamber Players in addition to orchestras in Germany and in Delaware. She loves to play and perform chamber music and has been a member of several ensembles.

Lori began her musical life learning piano from her mother and added violin at age 8 thanks to the public school music program near Tacoma, WA. After graduating from high school she moved from the Tacoma Youth Symphony to the University of Washington orchestra, with whom she journeyed to Washington DC and performed at the Kennedy Center. That was a very exciting opportunity for a kid who had never been on an airplane before!

After earning a chemical engineering degree from UW she worked for over a decade as an engineer in Delaware, Germany and Portland. More recently she has been doing environmental and sustainability work in the non-profit world Lori and her husband have grown twin children and live in the house they built near Sherwood. They like to hike, climb and kayak when possible!
