Jill Torberson, Horn II

Jill Torberson has been playing the horn section for PCSO for over 20 years. Jill plays throughout the area in The Linfield Chamber Orchestra, Bravo! Orchestra in Vancouver, The Northwest Horn Orchestra, and the Portland Festival Orchestra, who perform concerts in the city parks every August in Portland.

Jill is also a visual artist, working in steel. Her sculpture and custom steel fabrication can be seen throughout Portland. Jill also has work at the Maryhill Museum of Art in Goldendale, Washington, where one of her sculptures remains in the permanent collection of the museum.

She is also on the Faculty at Portland State University, teaching metal shop and welding workshops in the school of architecture.Many say that her sculptures have a very musical feel to them, which is no wonder, as music plays a major part in her life.
