Larry Wright began playing cello at age 10 and piano at age 7. He attended the University of Texas at Austin where he studied cello with Phyllis Young and taught violin and cello in the UT String Project. He also attended Pan American University and Universitè de Nice, France. He was a member of the University of Texas Symphony Orchestra as well as University Chorus, Early Music and New Music Ensembles.
He has performed with the Rio Grande Valley Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica de Monterrey Mexico, Portland's Columbia Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Symphony, Oregon East Symphony, Newport Symphony, Rose City Chamber Orchestra, and Pacific Crest Chamber Orchestra.
Larry enjoys playing chamber music and is a member of several ensembles including String Theory. He has performed at chamber music festivals in Portland and Astoria, OR; Port Townsend, WA; Mammoth Lakes, CA; Prague, Czech Republic; and Nice, France. He currently works as Software Engineer in Portland, Oregon.
